“The War on Drugs”: The True Freedom Series Legalization as it was before the 1920’s by D. Bourne

This is the Fourth part of a large series of articles/blogs on the current “War on Drugs”, and how all drugs should be legalized. It will examine many of the various aspects as to why drugs should be completely legal as they were prior to 1914 without government oversight and regulation. It will also cover why even though statistics show and have shown for years that it makes much more sense for drugs to be legal as it increases safety, decreases use, lowers taxes among other positive aspects most drugs still remain illegal. Please Note: Due to current knowledge along with research already obtained and or not yet obtained, not all of these articles are in a specific or chronological order. But each article is written to stand alone and as part of the series. Also please keep in mind that most documentaries (at least the well-funded ones released on DVD) ALL promote whether directly or subliminally that drugs should be illegal and prescription drugs should be even more regulated then they already are, which currently is very highly regulated on a federal level and state level as well in many areas. The reason for this series is to show people how much damage the “Drug War” causes and how many lives it has ruined and even taken, including people that have never used or possessed a drug in their life. As well as who it effects freedom and is a total contradiction to true freedom and liberty as well as violating the constitution on more than one level.

Part 4 Opium, Heroine, Pain Killers and how the government causes various problems for addicts

Many of the” feared’ drugs of today started being sold like anything else. Drugs like morphine went from being totally legal and could be bought in the sears and Roebuck catalog (http://www.answers.com/Q/Did_sears_and_roebuck_sell_heroin_in_the_early_1900s) complete with syringes and a carry case, to being drugs that you could spend life in prison for possessing. But this section is not about the history, that will be covered later in the series, this is about the propaganda perpetrated on opioids specifically Heroin. This continues to be pushed by government media, politicians and other government agencies, in documentaries, reports and speeches even leading to crack downs by law enforcement and additional laws on prescriptions by the DEA. This seems due to the law enforcement/government labeled “epidemic” of heroin addiction and overdoses which is almost always blamed on the prescriptions of pain killers and doctors being unfairly targeted along with the pharmaceutical companies (which is true in many cases but not with older opium based pain meds which they don’t make anything off of compared to many SSRI’s) , as the “bad guys”.

But who are the real bad guys? The people that kidnap and lock people up for years for choosing what to put in their body, while at the same time forcing them to find alternatives to safer pharmaceutical drugs. Or the users that are making their own choice as an adult to use a product that may not be good for them but is still their decision as an adult to make. The so called “epidemic” according to government media is everywhere but allegedly the worst in places like the New England much of it in New Hampshire and Massachusetts as well as Maine. New York, West Virginia, Pittsburg, Columbus and other eastern states have also reportedly had problems with Heroin use along with other states. The reason they are calling it an epidemic is because the increase in over dosages from heroin. People O.D because of many reasons but one of the biggest is the fact that the heroin users, who are usually shooting up directly into their veins and or ingesting in their bodies are coming from street dealers mixing in all sorts of chemicals. Whether it is to increase their profit, trying to make it stronger or not even knowing what they are doing, which is usually the case when you are talking about dealers that don’t even know basic chemistry. Some also use violence which makes it more dangerous in more ways than one to obtain the drug.

According to the government this is the issue. People get addicted to pain killers while being prescribed to them for legitimate pain. They get addicted, their prescriptions run out and they are unable to get more prescription pain killers. Because it is cheaper and gets them higher for a longer amount of time they start buying heroin and get addicted to it, some over dose, many bad enough where they end up dying. The government of course blames doctors for prescribing the medication and the pharmaceutical companies that don’t make much money off of them anyway.

Assuming that the alleged theory of people moving from pain killers to heroine is true, which I’m sure does account from a large percentage of heroin users. It is not the fault of the doctors (which are currently scared to even prescribe controlled substances) or the pharmaceutical companies. It’s the fault of the US government. The reality is if pain killers were legal, assuming that the propaganda that government’s promoting of people switching from pain killers to heroin no one would do heroin. Or it would at least greatly decrease the amount of users. And instead of going out and potentially risking your life and your freedom trying to find heroin in which you don’t even know what you’re getting. You would be getting safer drugs produced by the pharmaceutical companies. The only negatives of painkillers is the expense which would go away if sold at stores or pharmacies like anything else and there are no long term negative physical effects on your body from opioids besides the addiction.

This is the reality that both people in pain and addicts have to go through to obtain actual medication. The Truth about painkillers:

These are the potential negatives from using painkillers with opioids:

1. Addiction is possible after prolonged using depending upon the strength of the painkiller and the amount being consumed
   1. For pain and or addiction they usually need to be consumed on a daily basis and or multiple times a day.
2. The ability to obtain the drug
   1. Without a prescription it must be brought on the street for about a 2000% mark up. Most people can’t afford to buy them and still pay their normal living expenses.
      1. You are breaking the law and can be arrested for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
      2. You have to find someone who will sell it to you and be careful that person is safe to deal with, and won’t try to rob you or rip you off.
   2. When you have a prescription, as well as your prescription being monitored in a government database so the government has more of your personal information you are not able to get another prescription until the amount of days have gone bye that the prescription is intended to cover (1 monthly supply can’t be refilled until the 29^th day counting the day it was refilled as most places give you an extra day).

There are no other adverse physical effects from painkillers aside from normal side effects such as constipation, etc., which are synthesized from the opium poppy that grows naturally. Although the government along with government media tries to blames the majority or at least insinuate the majority of overdoses from opioids are from painkillers or synthetic opioids such as oxy and hydrocodone. They fail to count suicides, the amount or dosage being taken or mention the other drugs people usually have in their system along with the opioids. And of course there are the over doses from heroin which is the real problem. But all opioid prescription painkillers just get lumped into these numbers and propaganda.

For the people that can’t get a prescription and can’t afford pain killers on the street heroin has become a much cheaper alternative. But unlike prescription pain killers Heroin and its distribution and preparation methods due to it being illegal causes much more danger for the people that are trying to obtain it. Instead of having trained chemists employed by a legitimate company people are dealing with street dealers who not only cut the heroin with various chemicals but have received it from who knows how many others that have also mixed or cut it with chemicals since its original production by the cartels who also use dangerous chemicals in the creation of the drug. The majority of who have no idea of what effects different chemicals can have on the brain and body. Some dealers even add chemicals on purpose to cause an over dose, as it actually makes that dealer’s product more sot after because users assume it’s more powerful. When buying drugs on the street you never know what you’re getting. Not to mention the threat of get robbed or hurt while buying the drugs. And then there is of course the threat of the police. Whose war on drugs continues and still seems to be their number one priority. When it comes to arresting people for the possession of drugs (this excludes another violent offenses people have done while being high or selling drugs), police that arrest anyone for possession, distribution or use are literally kidnapping people off the street and holding them hostage.
Overdoses The Government’s Supposed Reason for Going after Heroin and Opioids

One of the things the government media often fails to tell you is that many people have been using at least one or more other drug when they have overdosed. And the problems are about the ability to get it and get the money for it. Which if it was legal that wouldn’t be a problem. A FBI agent stated in a documentary on drugs was that “the best thing that can happen to someone addicted to oxycodone is that they can be arrested that’s the best thing, the best thing that they can be arrested and go to jail, everything other than that is worse”.

Most of the documentaries produced by government media contain various propaganda with the same reoccurring story. Someone is injured in a car accident, playing sports and or other various ways. In one of the stories that I had come across a high school kid from the Boston area was injured during a football game on a kickoff return. Supposedly if it wasn’t for the injury he could have received a scholarship to college. Do to his injuries he was prescribed opium based pain killers for the pain for a few months. According to his own words he was hooked right away. After about 3 months on the medication the doctor cut off his prescription. Since prescription pills are more expensive and harder to get, along with the fact that heroine gives you a longer high, he started to buy heroine to replace the high of the pain killers and deal with the withdrawal. From here it is all downhill as he becomes a certified heroin addict. This is the common story you hear from government media. Whether it’s a heroin addict trying to get clean and then relapsing or suffering an over dose that can result in death.

No matter how bad a problem is, the government will always try to inflate the problem as it is a benefit to them. As when there is an alleged social problem people tend to turn to the government. Which the government can then control the narrative especially when it has to do with something like drugs and use it as a way to increase law enforcement, fill jails and make more arrests. It also allows them to exploit their agenda. Every drug is considered the worst or most addictive drug ever when they are talking about it in the media. And the DEA is always looking for something to go after and expand its budget especially now with them starting to lose their biggest illegal drug which brings in the most money via things like asset forfeiture, cannabis which is becoming legal in many states. The government’s motivation is not to help people it’s to generate money, fill jails, arrest people and exercise power and control.

The Continued Attack on Getting Prescription Painkillers

In October 2015 the DEA moved Hydrocodone an opioid pain killer from a schedule 3 to a schedule 2. The DEA (Drug Enforcement Assholes) schedules controlled substances in a ranking of one through five. One being the most dangerous and according to the DEA not having any medical use both heroin and cannabis are listed as schedule 1. The DEA is considering moving marijuana to schedule two in the next couple of months. According to (http://medshadow.org/drug-classifications-schedule-ii-iii-iv-v/) Substances are placed in their respective schedules based on whether they have a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, their relative abuse potential, and likelihood of causing dependence when abused. The effect on hydrocodone is that you can no longer get refills and must get one prescription at a time on a monthly basis, forcing people to see a doctor every month just to fill a prescription. I would think that this has decrease the amount of Hydrocodone known as Vicodin, Lortab and Norco, that may have possibly been sold on the street. Decreasing the supply and potentially causing people to switch to other drugs like Heroine. As Heroine is also from the same plant the opium poppy many people are trying heroine as a cheaper replacement for pain killers. As when you don’t have a prescription people can also buy pain killers of the street which apparently ends up costing much more money than heroin and is unaffordable for most users. According to the government this is the issue. People get addicted to pain killers while be prescribed them for legitimate pain. They get addicted there prescriptions runs out and they are unable to get more prescription pain killers. The government of course blames doctors for prescribing the medication and the pharmaceutical companies that don’t make much money off of them anyway, when the government the DEA and FDA should really be looking in the mirror.

Media Propaganda

                Along with National Geographic’s Drugs, INC. , HBO’s new documentary on the Heroin epidemic in Cape Code Massachusetts, the government media and various other documentaries (Netflix and Amazon is full of them). Vice recently did a short piece on their HBO show on the so called “heroin epidemic”. In the eyes of government media everything is an epidemic if they want to exploit it for political gain. The cause according to VICE, is the release of OxyContin. The only difference between OxyContin and drugs like Percocet which both contain oxycodone is that Percocet is mixed with drugs like Tylenol or acetaminophen with the strongest being 10 mg which has been around for decades. OxyContin isn’t mixed with drugs like acetaminophen which is actually better for you as acetaminophen can damage your liver. The other difference is its maximum dosage which originally was I 80mg released in 1996. But you can get it in 15, 20, and 30mg as well. 160mg was released in 2000 (which I believe is no longer available by prescription). The addiction to OxyContin is of course blamed by VICE on the pharmaceutical companies. But they of course fail to mention oxycodone has been available by prescription for decades.

The fact is the government could end many of issues with opioids while making people safer, able to have more normal lives and even get off the drugs if they want to. The truth is the government doesn’t have people’s best interest in mind. They are about money, power and control even guarding the poppy field in Afghanistan (in which production went up to 90% of the world’s poppy production since the war). As they bring the drugs in and then arrest the people that use and distribute them, as they are above the law. Many people are unaware but they did the same thing during the Vietnam war bringing in Heroin via “Air America” and cocaine during Iran Contra. This is not about stopping drug dealers, users or any of the bull shit they tell you. It’s about the government being above the law and having the money, power and control over every aspect of your life.
